2015 was the year “the sneaker” became legitimately mainstream. All of a sudden they were accepted at clubs or in the workplace. So even bigger things are expected for this year.
Here is my list of the top 5 sneakers released so far this year.
The Vans Blue Surf
Sticking to the surfer vibe this sneaker goes well with everything and brings a bit of the beach to your look.
Air Jordan 1 Nouveau
If you happen to get your hands on one of these cherish them with all your heart. Wear it with anything, I don’t care. Just look at them!
Grenson x New Balance 576
New balance and British brand Grenson joined forces to create this. I’m glad to see New Balance going in this direction. Stowing away from bright colours they’ve went down the classy route to come up with this. My favorite NB to date.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low Flyknit
The Air Force 1 has made a huge come back since last year. With the low Flyknit version, the weight of the sneaker has decreased dramatically and they look incredibly sexy. Perfect to wear with some ripped jeans and a long tee.
The Adidas NMD Runner
To me this has been the ultimate release this year. Also part of the woven family as the Nike flyknits but adidas has done something different releasing a new design with the woven look not applying it to an old design. That’s why it stands out more than anything. Another reason why it tops this list is that it’s selling out faster than anything. The secret NMD sells out within minutes of release.
