If it doesn’t fall of first…
It’s been 14 years, and I’ve nearly gotten over Cabin Fever, that demented Eli Roth flick where attractive, cocky college kids go vacationing in the woods, only to contract a horrifying flesh-eating virus. I prefer to not think about that scene where that girl finds out she’s infected while shaving her legs.
But just as I had nearly moved on, madman Eli Roth comes swinging back with a remake. IFC Midnight just dropped the trailer, and it’s clear they didn’t hold back on the bloodshed (or rather, skinshed).
Although Roth is only back in an executive producer capacity, this remake still works with his script for the original 2002 film. So, we’ll all have to endure that leg-shaving gross-out once more.
This time around, Travis Zariwny (Scavengers) directs a fresh lineup of young Hollywood flesh, including rising star Matthew Daddario (Shadowhunters).
Cabin Fever premieres in theaters and On Demand on February 12.
