The Analogue NT Mini Is The Nintendo Console Of Your Dreams.

There’s something crazy going on in the retro video gaming world.

Apparently people are really digging Analogue’s Nt, the sleekly modern, aluminum riff on the original Nintendo Entertainment System that plays over 2,000 Nintendo and Famicom games.

In fact, the consoles are so popular that they’ve been out of stock pretty much all year and we’ve seen desperate gamers buy them for almost R14 000 on eBay—mind you, we’re not talking about the fancy ones dipped in gold, but the regular ones that would go for R5 000, if they could only keep them on the shelves.

So it’s half-knowing the kind of mass hysteria that could be induced,  Analogue begins to take pre-orders on their new Nt mini system.

With all the same capabilities as the popular original, it’s 20% smaller, doesn’t make you buy an upgrade to get both HDMI and RGB video, comes with one of their wireless controllers, and at R4500 is R500 less than its predecessor.

We know, take a minute to breath it in.

Hopefully this will more than satisfy the hundreds of avid retro gamers per week that Analogue tells us are emailing them about re-stocking the Nt.

Just to be clear, it doesn’t have any games built in like the NES Classic edition Nintendo is putting out in November. But whereas that one isn’t expandable, this one plays every NES cartridge you’ve got (that still works). In other words, only true genre fans need apply.

Though you can order it today, you won’t get your hands on the Nt mini until after the holidays, since they plan to ship in January.
